Overview

by Rowe Alistair - published on , updated on

The activities of the Electrons-Photons-Surfaces group are mainly devoted to the physics of semiconductors. We develop three research directions:
the spin dynamics in semiconductors and thin magnetic layers,
the electronic processes in nitride compounds and devices,
the transport under mechanical stress in semiconductor nanostructures.

These studies are based on original techniques such as low energy electron spectroscopy, spin polarimetry, polarized luminescence microscopy and local probe microscopies.

Our instrumental developments in optical microscopies and spectroscopies have also enabled us to conduct various projects, in collaboration with the other groups of the laboratory, in the field of optics of thin film and nanostructures.
