Work on localization commented in the Journal Club for Condensed Matter Physics

by Anne-Marie - published on

In a three-page article published online in the Journal Club for Condensed Matter Physics, a site where recognized researchers comment once a month on some notable scientific articles), Carlo Beenakker of the University of Leiden (Netherlands) summarizes the theoretical and mathematical work on the localization landscape (project led by Marcel Filoche and Claude Weisbuch within the laboratory) focusing on a recent mathematical publication. In the latter, the authors (Arnold, David, Filoche, Jerison & Mayboroda) highlight a surpringsinly simple relationship between the minima of the localization landscape and the energies of the localization states. Carlo Beenakker then expands his remarks and assesses the potentialities of this apparently promising new theory.
