I specialize in non-covalent and covalent surface functionalization, supramolecular self-assembly on semiconductive substrates at the liquid-solid interface, and surface characterization using scanning probe microscopy (SPM) techniques, including scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) in both air and liquid environments.
During my PhD at KU Leuven (Belgium), I focused on the fabrication of metal-organic coordination network (MOCN) monolayers and metal-organic framework (MOF) crystals on graphitic substrates, as well as on characterizing their formation, growth, and properties at the molecular level using SPM techniques.
My current research focuses on the functionalization of silicon substrates through self-assembly and grafting methodologies for the development of chemical sensors, along with investigating their working mechanisms using AFM and attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR).
