Biography:

Simon Delacroix is an Assistant Professor at Ecole Polytechnique and IP Paris. He is laureate from the chemistry agrégation (examination for teaching positions in high schools and universities) in 2015 and graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (MSc) and from Sorbonne University (MSc) in 2016. In 2016, he joined the team of Clément Sanchez and David Porthault at Collège de France and Sorbonne University (LCMCP) and Yann Le Godec at IMPMC to work on the synthesis of new boron rich nanoparticles at high temperature and/or high pressure. He obtained his PhD in 2019 and joined the team of Markus Antonietti in the Max Planck Institute of colloids and interfaces in Potsdam to work on ultrafast laser carbonization to develop new sensors. Thanks to a grant from the Saint-Gobain chair on innovative materials in 2022 and since his hire as assistant professor in September 2023, Simon is working on the synthesis of nanostructured thin films based on various methods like molten salts or laser irradiation. He is also developing a high-throughput laser synthesis coupled with machine learning to accelerate the discovery of new nanomaterials.
